Basically, all previous fall protection systems, from bungee cords to improvised webbing constructions to the Fastmount fall protection, have the disadvantage that they penetrate the substructure, which often leads to collisions with the ship’s structure or requires complex penetrations in the air conditioning boxes. For these reasons, fall protection systems often need to be retrofitted on board, which results in a significant additional installation effort.
The KAESAFE fall protection system, due to its minimal space requirement, is milled directly onto the CNC, making panel securing no longer an issue, which has a positive impact on design, work preparation, production, and installation.
For REGYC Part B projects, the fall protection system does not need to meet fire protection requirements according to the regulations, as the actual ceiling attachment (metal Fastmount/Fitlock clip) takes on this task. Nevertheless, we use a flame-retardant rope that complies with building regulations. Upon request, the KAESAFE can also be equipped with a 1.5 mm stainless steel rope.
The new KAEDOOR-B15 for luxurious yacht interiors is 10 kg lighter than the cabin doors of our competitors, while maintaining the same soundproofing and fire rating. Thanks to modern and innovative manufacturing techniques, the appearance is so high-quality that additional door cladding is unnecessary. The edges/door rebates are mitered using the nesting process.
From planning to turnkey handover, KAEFER delivers high-quality complete solutions for kitchens, pantries, bars, and buffet areas. The surfaces, made of stainless steel 1.4571, comply with USPH standards, ensuring safe working conditions and offering high functionality with respect to workflow efficiency.

For over 25 years, KAEFER fire protection sliding doors have been in continuous use worldwide on cruise ships, yachts, ferries, and many other types of vessels. They are ideal for escape routes, allow for large openings, and are nearly invisible during normal ship operations.
The interior of our sliding doors is made of a composite material that offers significant weight savings without compromising fire protection properties.

With an ingenious combination of vacuum panels, mineral wool, and stainless steel cladding, KAEFER has developed refrigeration and freezer room doors that meet all necessary insulation requirements while saving 40% of the weight compared to conventional doors.
KAEFER’s A-60 drive systems are proven solutions that have been continuously developed since 1980. The automatic drives are available as single and double drives in various sizes. All drives meet the fire protection requirements for A-60 products in escape routes according to SOLAS standards.
The systems offer versatile applications and are manufactured in custom sizes.
The KAEFER A-60 SlimLine fire protection wall panel meets IMO and SOLAS fire protection standards for A-class bulkheads. This solid yet extremely lightweight sandwich panel consists of mineral wool and face layers made of fiber-reinforced mineral composite material. The treated surface can be painted or creatively finished, for example, with laminates. This not only delights designers but also significantly reduces the overall energy consumption of the ship and, consequently, its environmental impact due to the notable weight savings.

The technical insulation in shipbuilding marks a significant part of KAEFER’s history, and this expertise remains deeply embedded in our DNA.
For insulation across all temperature ranges—ranging from fire protection and thermal insulation to cryogenic low-temperature insulation—KAEFER meets all thermal requirements with customized solutions in our performance portfolio.
In addition, our offerings include technical soundproofing for ships of all types and specialized solutions in naval shipbuilding. KAEFER provides a wide range of insulation solutions that meet and are certified according to shipbuilding fire protection standards under IMO and SOLAS regulations.
We face new challenges with each project, addressing them with various focal points, including:
Our insulation solutions are used on practically all types of ships, from cruise ships and superyachts to naval and research vessels. KAEFER can be found on all the world’s oceans.
To meet the high acoustic demands on ships, particularly on megayachts and naval vessels, we develop, design, manufacture, and install custom soundproof enclosures for various noise-generating equipment such as engines, compressors, and diesel generators.
By reducing the noise emissions of these components by up to 30 dB (depending on the sound source spectrum and under free-field conditions), we implement necessary acoustic measures directly at the source of the noise.
We design, supply, and install cryogenic insulation for pipes and components of LNG fuel systems in modern ship propulsion systems.
Using aerogel-based and pre-configured insulation materials, including multiple integrated vapor barriers, we create an efficient insulation system for the customer. This system reliably prevents unwanted condensation and ice formation while minimizing energy losses in the overall system, even with minimal dimensions.
The KAETEC insulation system is designed for use on pipelines with high medium temperatures (e.g., exhaust gas pipes). Such an insulation system is commonly employed on most ships with combustion engines as the main propulsion.
Through a special process, the glass fabrics used in the insulation system are pre-treated so that the mats can be used as technically formaldehyde-free from the moment of installation. This requirement is of significant importance in naval shipbuilding, and therefore, our KAETEC system is also listed as an approved system for use by the German Navy.
All materials used are tested and approved as non-combustible or flame-retardant according to SOLAS and MED standards. Additional key product features are detailed in the product datasheet.
A special product from KAEFER is the Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP), for which we also hold a patent. This insulation system is characterized by its exceptionally low insulation thickness, making it an ideal choice for applications where every centimeter of space matters. For example, refrigeration and freezer rooms are equipped with our KAE-VIP system. The system also meets and is certified for structural fire protection requirements. Additional key product features are detailed in the product datasheet.
